THYSC

Historic Train Cooperative Yverdon – Sainte-Croix

The main objective of the THYSC Cooperative is to ensure the successful completion of
the project to preserve and restore the historic Ge 4/4 21
locomotive and, ideally, to
operate it for tourist purposes.

The “Crocodile” locomotive

The Ge 4/4 21 is an exceptional locomotive, designed and built by the Yverdon-Ste-Croix company (now TRAVYS SA) in its workshops in Yverdon-les-Bains in 1950.

This machine was designed specifically for this railway line with its unique route, connecting Yverdon-les-Bains to Sainte-Croix.

The cooperative will also take over the Ars 36 bar car, which was sold in 2021 by TRAVYS to a railway enthusiast. The latter has agreed to make it available to the THYSC Cooperative so that it can offer a car suitable for tourist services between Yverdon and Sainte-Croix.

Support the project

To get the “Crocodile” running again, we have set up the THYSC Cooperative.

Anyone can make a donation or even become a member of the cooperative by purchasing one or more shares, thereby becoming the owner of a piece of the Crocodile !
