The rolling stock made available to THYSC
Once the various authorizations are approved and validated by the relevant authorities, the THYSC Cooperative should take possession of the historic Ge 4/4 21 locomotive (currently held by TRAVYS SA). In this way, THYSC will be able to provide railway operator services for tourism and on-demand transport purposes.
The THYSC cooperative will also take back the Ars 36 dining car, which had been sold in 2021 by TRAVYS to a railway enthusiast. The latter would be willing to make this vehicle available to the THYSC Cooperative. The Cooperative would thus be able to offer a tourist service between Yverdon and Sainte-Croix.
The Ge 4/4 21 locomotive is a unique and exceptional machine. It has been running for 75 years (1950 – 2025) on the TRAVYS network, between Yverdon and Sainte-Croix.
The Ge 4/4 21 locomotive was entirely built by the Yverdon – Sainte-Croix railway company (now TRAVYS SA).
The Ars 36 “La Traverse” car was put into service in 1913 by the Rhaetian Railways
The Ars 36 “La Traverse” is a historic passenger car taken over by TRAVYS.
