The bar car

The Ars 36 “La Traverse” bar car was created from an old Rhaetian Railway (RhB) car, which was taken over in 2000 by the Yverdon-Ste-Croix company (now TRAVYS SA).

This passenger carriage was put into service in 1913 as a vehicle for transporting 3rd class passengers. It was a C4 type carriage and bore the number 2218 on the Rhaetian Railway.

Its conversion into the Ars 36 saloon car was completed in 2002 at the Travys workshops in Yverdon-les-Bains.

Seating capacity: 48 passengers

Tare weight: 19.0 tonnes

Brakes: handbrake and compressed air

The Ge 4/4 21 locomotive is a unique and exceptional machine. It has been running for 75 years (1950–2025) on the TRAVYS network, between Yverdon and Sainte-Croix.

This vehicle was built entirely by the Yverdon–Sainte-Croix railway company (now TRAVYS SA). It is equipped with an electric regenerative brake and a Charmilles Westinghouse pneumatic brake.

The Ars 36 coach “La Traverse” was put into service in 1913 by the Rhaetian Railway.

The Ars 36 coach “La Traverse” is a former passenger coach taken over by TRAVYS.
