The main objective of the THYSC Cooperative is to ensure the successful completion of
the project to preserve and restore the historic Ge 4\/4 21<\/strong> locomotive and, ideally, to
operate it for tourist purposes.<\/p>\n

The “Crocodile” locomotive<\/h2>\n

The Ge 4\/4 21<\/span> is an<\/span> exceptional locomotive, designed and built by the Yverdon-Ste-Croix company (now TRAVYS SA) in its workshops<\/span> in Yverdon-les-Bains in 1950.<\/p>\n

This machine was<\/span> designed specifically for this railway line with its unique route, connecting Yverdon-les-Bains<\/span> to Sainte-Croix.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cooperative will also take over the Ars 36 bar car, which was sold in 2021 by TRAVYS to a railway enthusiast. The latter has agreed to make it available to the THYSC Cooperative so that it can offer a car suitable for tourist services between Yverdon and Sainte-Croix. <\/p>\n
